Clearwind opened her eyes and stretched her mouth in a yawn. She hauled herself to her feet and stretched her limbs. She left the warriors den and padded over to the apprentices who were eating freshkill. She noticed Redpaw and Crowpaw in a far corner eating together, and grabbed a vole to join them. "Greetings, Redpaw. Are you ready for training?" Redpaw nodded, swallowing a mouthfull of chafinch. "I'm ready, Clearwind! Where are we going today?" Clearwind thought for a moment. "How about I take you to Twolegplace?" Redpaw eyes glincened, "Really?" "Yes, it would be fun." Redpaw nodded finishing his freshkill and quickly said goodbye to Crowpaw to follow Clearwind out the gorse tunnel. "Now, Redpaw.... I'm not exactly going to take you to the edge of Twolegplace.... I'm going to take inside Twolegplace...." Redpaw turned to Clearwind in astonishment. "What? What do you mean?" Clearwind put her head down. "I'm taking you to the city." Redpaw sheathed his claws. "But's that where BloodClan lives!" Clearwind nodded. "I have a brother there, he's a member of BloodClan and we see each other every half moon... I wanted to see him, he's quite nice. But just prefers to be apart of a Clan, but only in the city....." Redpaw nodded, trying to understand Clearwind, and slowly followed behind her and over the ravine deeper into the forest. "Clearwind, but, why am i going?" Clearwind stopped and turned to her apprentice. "Because, don't you ever wonder what's it's like in the city? What it's like out there? Beyond the fence? It will give you experience, Redpaw." Clearwind said smiling and then turning back making a turn to Treecut Place. Clearwind poked her head out of a hawthorn bush and looked around. There was a clear stretch of grass before them, and then a tall fence. "Alright, we have to move quickly. Let's go!" Clearwind said, launching out of the bush with Redpaw close behind. They crossed the open stretch of grass and over to the fence, keeping along the edge. "Clearwind, aren't we going to jump over?" Clearwind shook her head. "Listen, there is no reek of Twoleg Monsters here, that means there are Twoleg Gardens over these fences, we must keep going until we smell the Twoleg Monsters." Redpaw nodded and padded on, keeping pace with Clearwind. Clearwind stopped further up, lifting her nose to the air, and then drawing it back in a snarl. "Twoleg Monsters. we're here. Clearwind looked up and down, for a small hole in the fence, her brother had made ages ago for her to slip through in. "There! The hole!" Clearwind nuzzled through, followed by Redpaw. The two cats looked in front of them. They were in an alley. "Alirght, Redpaw. Stay close to me. It's dangerous here, and you could get lost easily if you don't know your way... Now let's go." Redpaw nodded staying close to Clearwind. Clearwind padded on, there were big Twoleg buildings and so many cats who looked so hungry or mean. Redpaw twitched at the thought of being caught in their claws. "It's alright Redpaw." Clearwind said, feeling her apprentice's shaking fur on her side. "We're almost there." Clearwind turned down an alley and stopping in front of a cat. "Hello, Flash. Where is Tear?" Flash narrowed his eyes. "No need, i know he welcomes you to his den, go on through..." Clearwind nodded, putting her tail on Redpaw's shoulder, as they walked down the alley to a dumpster. "Bone? Are you here?" A cat slowly walked out from under a dumpster and smiled grimacingly. "Hello, Clearwind...." Claerwind jumped back, "Scourge! Where is brother?! What have you done with Tear!!" Scourge smiled, looking at Redpaw. "I took care of your brother, Clearwind. I heard things from Flash about your secret meetings ever half moon." He said, his eyes turing hard as stone. "How long did you think you could keep it up? You know i hate cats from Clans!" He said, extending his claws, grabbing Redpaw by shoulder and pulling him down and dragging him over to him. "Redpaw! You let him go, now!!" Clearwind said, sheathing her claws. "You are going to try and fight me? Clearwind, the second you strike, i'll strike at your apprentice." Clearwind eyes watered. She drew her claws in and sat down. "Please, let him go. He's, he's like my kit to me. Please." Scourge crushed the apprentice lower to the ground, hearing Redpaw screech in terror and pain. "Please!!!" Clearwind shrieked. "You know i hate beggers. I can't stand them, it shows weakness. And Clearwind, you won't win that way." Suddenly, Clearwind lunged at Scourge, plowing her shoulder into him, knowcking him off into the wall. She grabbed Redpaw by the scruff and began running. Suddenly, something grabbed her hind, and pulled her down, sending Redpaw across and onto the sidewalk out of the alley. Redpaw heaved himself to his paws and looked back at Clearwind. "Clearwind! NO!" he screeched, as he watched her being dragged away by Scourge. Scourge put his paw ontop of her back and sank his claws in, putting all his weight ontop of her back. "Redpaw, i- i- i'm sorry... Go, now. that's an order... Find your way back home.... quickly... leave........" Clearwind choked, as her eyes closed. Redpaw closed his eyes and turned away, and padded off, slowly. "Goodbye, Clearwind....."
