Aquapaw opened her teal-hued orbs. Her petite nose twitched, the sweet scent of fresh-kill penetrating even the shady Apprentice Den. She glanced at Cougarpaw's sandy pelt. She nearly chuckled out loud. His back legs kept slipping out of his mossy nest. With a quick yank, he pulled the offending paws in, trying to curl up. "Poor Cougarpaw", thought Aquapaw sympathetically. The nest he had chosen was way to small for is large frame. Well, she was getting nothing done by lazing about. Carefully, she came to her paws, brushing off clinging moss with a quick bath. Feeling refreshed and presentable, she padded out of the den, into the life-giving rays of the sun. A slight breeze ruffled her snow-white whiskers, tugging playfully at her ebony and caramel striped pelt. Her belly growled, reminding her of her last meal. The rest of the camp was silent, for the sun had not quite risen. Observing the fresh-kill pile, she noticed noting caught her fancy. "Time to to hunt", she thought, wanting to get the itch out of her paws.
